To Our Customers:
ActiveAudience experienced some downtime earlier this morning as the result of a coordinated influx of traffic to our servers. We are investigating the root cause – and whether it was the result of a malicious denial of service attack. All our services are fully operational now.
Your sites are up and running and the site is fully operational. Rest assured we will be issuing revenue credit for a full day of traffic, plus an additional 10 percent for the inconvenience.
As we have done in the past, you will receive the greater revenue of:
1) Today’s revenue – which is doubtful, given the outage.
2) Thursday Feb. 22 revenue – the day before the outage.
3) Friday Feb. 16 revenue. We do this to compare the same-day traffic and revenue patterns from the previous week. (This comparison is generally used for a Monday outage – you likely wouldn’t want to get paid on Sunday revenue).
We will pay an additional 10 percent on that day’s revenue for the inconvenience when final payments are calculated next month.

Some of you may have noticed that there has been a delay in receiving emails from ActiveAudience. These emails typically are generated when someone uses Contact Us, Adds a Domain or Submits an Application. The email delay has been fixed. You will be receiving any delayed emails today.

The reporting files that show paid clicks and revenue have been delayed by the feed provider. We have contacted the feed provider to make them aware of the situation and hope to have a quick resolution. As soon as they can rectify this situation your accounts will be updated.

We have had a few users ask us why the previous days total revenue increases throughout the morning. After speaking with our technical team, we have learned that our revenue miner continues to process previous day’s data until 11 AM EST (barring any delays from our feed provider).
We are working on getting the revenue data in your account earlier in the morning. Once we have an update we will post it on the blog.
